Egypt 2027 Eclipse Tours for Canadian Travellers
Many Canadian travellers experienced the April 2024 total solar eclipse from southern Ontario or the Maritimes -- some under clear skies, others behind cloud. Egypt in August removes the weather variable entirely: Upper Egypt records less than 5% cloud probability during the eclipse season, and totality near Luxor lasts approximately 6 minutes 22 seconds -- significantly longer than the 2024 event's maximum of 4 minutes 28 seconds.
Direct flights from Toronto (YYZ) and Montreal (YUL) to Cairo are available on EgyptAir. One-stop connections from Vancouver route via Frankfurt or London. Canadian passport holders can obtain an Egypt eVisa online (approximately C$35) or a visa on arrival.
