Egypt 2027 Eclipse Tours for German Travelers
The 2027 total solar eclipse will be the longest on accessible land in the 21st century -- approximately 6 minutes 22 seconds of totality near Luxor, Egypt, on August 2, 2027. For German travelers, Egypt is an exceptionally practical destination: direct flights from Frankfurt and Munich to Cairo on Lufthansa and EgyptAir take roughly four hours, and frequent charter flights connect German hubs to Hurghada on the Red Sea coast.
German passport holders can obtain an Egypt eVisa online (~€22) or a visa on arrival at Cairo, Luxor, or Hurghada airports. All packages are quoted in USD, with approximate EUR equivalents available on each tour page.
Important: Cairo, Aswan, and Abu Simbel are outside the path of totality and will experience deep partial eclipses only. Our tours place you in Luxor or along the centreline for the full eclipse, visiting these other sites as cultural highlights before or after eclipse day.
Why Egypt Over Spain for the 2027 Eclipse?
The eclipse path also crosses southern Spain, but totality there lasts under 5 minutes with significantly higher cloud risk. Egypt offers the longest accessible duration on the entire path, near-certain August clear skies, and the temples and tombs of the Nile Valley -- a combination no European viewing site can match.
