Egypt 2027 Eclipse Tours for UK Travellers
British eclipse chasers know the frustration of cloud cover -- the 1999 Cornwall eclipse was famously overcast for most observers. Egypt in August eliminates that gamble entirely. Upper Egypt records less than 5% cloud probability during the summer, making it one of the most meteorologically reliable eclipse-viewing locations in history.
Direct flights from London Heathrow to Cairo take approximately five hours on EgyptAir or British Airways. Charter flights to Luxor and Hurghada operate from Gatwick and Manchester during the summer season. UK passport holders can obtain an Egypt eVisa online for roughly £20 or a visa-on-arrival at the airport.
Totality near Luxor lasts approximately 6 minutes 22 seconds -- the longest on accessible land until 2114. Cairo, Aswan, and Abu Simbel are outside the totality path (deep partial only), but our tours combine these archaeological highlights with eclipse-day viewing from Luxor or the centreline.
Packages from £5,000
Our six packages range from the accessible Cairo Comprehensive Journey (5 days, from $4,150) to the 8-day Cairo & Nile Cruise (from $6,700). All are private, small-group, and run by licensed Egyptologist guides. Approximate GBP equivalents are shown on the tour pages -- final pricing is in USD.
